One of the best ways to bond with your family, take in nature, and get some exercise is right under your nose in Northbridge, Massachusetts. Whether your children are on training wheels, strapped to the back of your bike, or on their own bike, bike riding is the perfect day-trip for the whole family.

Blackstone River Canal Heritage State Park runs through the towns of Northbridge and Uxbridge, MA. It spans just over 3 miles with wide, paved bike paths. “The paths are straight and smooth so my son could navigate them easily. They are also shaded which helped with the endurance!” says, Mike Robey, a local dad of two. The Blackstone River runs beside the path. You can see a waterfall, fishing, kayaking and more as you ride through.
